While I’m not personally sure if curses are real or not, I do know that we can take on negative beliefs about ourselves, if we think negative thoughts about ourselves for long enough.
This is because the subconscious mind will accept any affirmation as being true, whether negative or positive — it can’t differentiate between the two.
So you might feel like you’ve been cursed but you probably aren’t; your subconscious mind is probably just littered with some less-than-pleasant beliefs that are keeping you from living a happier and more prosperous life.
So many of us are guilty of thinking, or worse, repeating out loud, negative statements about ourselves regularly.
This includes damaging statements such as:
- “It’s really hard for me to make new friends”
- “My cooking is atrocious. I always burn everything”
- “I always look awkward and everywhere I go, people look at me funny”
- “I’ll always be ugly and overweight”
- “My retirement will be such a disappointment”
- “I’ll never get a raise”
- “I always attract narcissists by the truckload”
Such statements, when repeated enough, eventually enter, and take up residence, in the subconscious mind.
The unfortunate result of this process is that these beliefs then play out over and over again in your reality.
And who wants to remain stuck in any area of life? Certainly not me, and I’m guessing not you, either! That’s probably why you’re reading this article.
The good news is that you can absolutely remove negative beliefs (also known as ‘limiting beliefs’) from your subconscious mind, and replace them with some nice new positive ones. These new positive beliefs will then play out in your reality instead.
Phew!
So now that we have that down, I’m going to tell you just how you can go about identifying, removing, and replacing these boring negative beliefs that are keeping you stuck and holding your back.
There are a few different ways:
Visit an Energy Healer
You could see a Reiki healer, an EFT practitioner, or another type of energy or holistic healer. If you feel like that might be too woo-woo for you, no problem — you can visit a hypnotherapist instead.
It doesn’t matter who helps you to locate your limiting beliefs — you just need to find them so you can remove them from your subconscious, and replace them with positive ones.
Not all energy workers offer this service, but many do, so be sure to give them a call to discuss the removal of limiting beliefs before booking an appointment.
Hand Negative Beliefs Over to The Universe for Transmutation
This is my favorite way to remove my limiting beliefs.
Choose a comfy, quiet place to sit, and write a list of the most negative thoughts you have about yourself.
For example, if you’re experiencing problems with your personal appearance, write down any negative thoughts you often think about the way you look or come across, such as “I’ll never lose weight”, “My hair is too frizzy” and so on.
Hand over each one individually to God, the Universe, your Higher Self, Jesus, or even an angel of your choosing such as Arc Angel Michael, for release.
Ask for the beliefs to be released from you in every timeline, every dimension, and every parallel existence to 100%.
Replace each released limiting belief with an appropriate positive affirmation of your choosing. For example, if you released the limiting belief “I am clumsy“, you might choose to replace it with the positive belief “I am graceful“.
Work on one area of your life at a time. This should help you to perform a more thorough clear out.
In case you’re wondering, I personally believe that whether or not you believe the above can work, it can still work.
I’ve personally witnessed one of the most skeptical people I know benefit greatly from removing limiting beliefs with this method. So if you are skeptical, that’s fine and maybe consider giving it a whirl if you have some free time on your hands one day.
If you really aren’t into what’s known as New Age stuff, that’s totally fine. I genuinely get it and you really don’t have to go down this route. Have a read below for more ways to reprogram your subconscious.
Listen to Subliminal Recordings
The famous Biologist, Bruce Lipton, recommends listening to subliminal recordings at night whilst sleeping, as being a powerful way to reprogram your subconscious mind.
Subliminal recordings contain positive affirmations that are below conscious perception, meaning that you can’t hear the affirmations but your subconscious mind can — and it also takes them on board.
When the conscious mind is asleep, the subconscious mind is still listening and learning, although without any interference from the conscious mind so it’s able to accept affirmations far more readily.
Choose a series of tracks from Youtube or elsewhere that relate to the area of your life you’d like to improve. For example, if you feel stuck financially, choose some tracks that contain positive affirmations about abundance and wealth creation.
A word of caution, however. There’s no way of knowing exactly what kind of affirmations are contained in subliminal recordings. Make sure you’re listening to one that has been recommended to you by someone you trust or has a lot of views, positive comments, and likes on YouTube.
Repeat Positive Affirmations Daily
Repeating positive affirmations to yourself everyday can be really helpful with successfully installing new positive beliefs in your subconscious mind.
Make sure the affirmations you choose are in the present tense as the subconscious mind has no grasp of the human concept of time. Again, all it recognizes is the present moment.
You can also absolutely combine affirmations with one or more of the methods above.
I listen to a bunch of trusted subliminal tracks on YouTube at night and every morning I repeat positive affirmations in the mirror.
If I’m in a rush to get out the door, I have a load of positive affirmations recorded on my smartphone in my own voice that I listen to while I’m on the train or driving. Recording affirmations in your own voice is beneficial because your subconscious mind accepts your own voice more readily than someone else’s.
Observe Positive Affirmations
The internet is almost bursting at the seams with free printables containing positive statements.
Search online using keywords such as ‘positive affirmations printables’. Print them out, frame them and place them somewhere you can see them often, such as on your desk, in the living room, bathroom, or near the fridge.
Create Beautiful Sigils
Some people like to create and hang sigils around their homes or workplace.
Sigils are essentially symbols that can communicate with the subconscious and are considered by some to have magical powers.
I’m not sure about the magical powers part but I personally greatly enjoy observing them as works of art and I think they can help with installing new positive beliefs in the subconscious.
Watch What Enters Your Subconscious Mind
Try to stay mindful of what and whom you’re listening to. Even the television shows and movies that you watch, and the music that you listen to.
The subconscious mind is always listening and recording information, even when you’re asleep.
If possible, try to limit your contact with people who consciously or unconsciously repeat negative beliefs about themselves and others.
We’ve all known people who are simply downright negative and it can be very hard to be around them for long periods of time.
I understand that you might want to help them, or feel sorry for them, but by withdrawing, you may be helping them more, as they might realize a change of perspective might do them some good.
Stepping back from family members or work colleagues can be tricky but if you have friends who you know intuitively aren’t good for you, it should be far easier to distance yourself from them.
You’ll probably find that moving away from some sources of negativity in your life and instead surrounding yourself with people who think more positively, will change your own outlook, and life, for the better.
I personally believe that the Universe, God, Source energy, loves us so much and so unconditionally, that it will always give us more of what we are being without judgment or prejudice.
By being, I mean what we are thinking, feeling, and what we consciously and subconsciously believe to be true about ourselves and others.
If we shift some of the limiting beliefs we’re carrying and stay mindful of our thoughts, actions, and intentions, we can attract better experiences, people and situations into our lives.
